With a city landscape continuously evolving and construction innovation projects such as the tallest building and the first 3D-printed office in the world, Dubai and the UAE emerged as one of the major centers of innovation in construction and future technology in the world today.

Dubai’s successful bid to host Expo 2020 in the city gave new momentum to the uprise of construction opportunities, with billions of investments underway in sectors ranging from infrastructures to commercial buildings, to greatly innovative projects such as Bluewaters Island, Dubai Creek Harbor, Dubai Water Canal and Deira Island.

Construction is the biggest market in the Gulf area with $2.6 trillion worth of projects in the pipeline.

Almost 40 years ago, Dubai hosted the first edition of the largest gathering of construction professionals in the Middle East: “The Big 5”.

Held on the 26 – 29 November, the 38th edition of the International Building and Construction Show took place, as always, at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The event has been an occasion to bring together construction professionals, manufacturers, and thousands of both international and local suppliers and dealers to showcase their products and get to know the latest innovations in the sector.
